About Internship

AFFAIRS, I (Temporary Job Opening)
Department/Office: Economic and
Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific
Location: NEW DELHI (Remote)
The intern will work
with the designated staff of the
Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) in the implementation of the Centre’s substantive work program. The work
program broadly involves developing and promoting regional mechanisms and
platforms, capacity building of policy makers and institutions, and carrying
out normative and analytical work to assist ESCAP member States.
For
this internship, fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. No
working experience is required to apply for the United Nations
Internship Programme. Your training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the
United Nations during your internship.
Responsibilities
(a) Regular monitoring of relevant developments, policy trends,
and news articles related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the
SDGs in the subregion;
(b) Monitor and collect details on national
policies on selected sustainable development issues of member States of
ESCAP
(c) Collect data, generate figures and tables, describe and
analyze the tables and results to support ESCAP-APCTT staff in related
research and analytical work
(d) Attend conferences, seminars,
meetings, and other events and provide written highlights and briefing
notes
(e) Provide administrative, organizational, and conference
management support for ESCAP-APCTT events
(f) Other activities as
may be decided by the supervisor
Eligibility
Applicants must fulfill one of the following requirements:
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or
equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year
of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or
equivalent);
c. Have graduated with Bachelor’s degree, Masters,
Ph.D., or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
The candidate must possess good communication skills, teamwork quality,
planning & organizing, accountability, and good client orientation.
Duration
The India Country Office internship is for a minimum of
two months with an opportunity to extend it for not more than six months. The
workdays will be around five days per week during the internship.
Stipend
This internship will be unpaid and it will be full-time and remote.
Certificate
Yes, there will be a free verified certificate from United Nations for
all the interns.

United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for
human settlements. The internship will be of Programme Management remotely.
For

Responsibilities
– Support in technical inputs on waste and resource management with a
focus on circular economy;
– Support in reviewing existing guidelines and
regulations;
– Develop a knowledge base of best practices, novel
technologies, lessons learned, experiences, and stories to address the nexus
between urbanization, resource management, plastics, etc.
– Prepare
presentations, sectoral flyers & brochures, tracking, reporting, and
management of the ongoing and future assignments.
– Support training and
workshops at national and state levels in line with agreed work plans.

The
